Writing Challenge 12: Infinity Stones/Gems

Another popular vote writing challenge! I think I use stone/gem interchangably here, because its inconsistent between universes. There will be two different prompts here, depending on your interest:

Prompt 1: By means explained or not, your character has come into possession of one of the infinity stones/gems. They have decided to use the stone to do anything they woud like. Write what happens.*

Prompt 2: By means explained or not, one of the infinity stones/gems has been used on your character. Write what happens.

For both prompts you may use multiple characters, however they can still only use one stone.

The stones and their descriptions:

Space: User can manipulate space as they see fit. Teleportation across the universe, increase/decrease speed of anything in existence, can allow user to appear in multiple places at once, and bend physics to alter distance between objects. At its peak, allows user to be in all places in the universe at once simultaneously.

Reality: Alters all of reality. This includes breaking the laws of reality, logic, and physics. Can bring people back from the dead, distort reality to make it incomprehensible to one or many people. At its peak, can create an entire new universe.

Soul: The stone is sentient, with the desire to collect souls. It can attack another persons soul, reveal information about a persons being by peering into their soul, trap someone inside their idyllic world, can access memories/skills of those imprisoned in the sould world, revert beings to their natural state, protects wielder from soul-based attacks. At its peak, can connect the souls of all beings in existence.

Power: Increased strength and durability, enhances virtually any known superhuman ability, energy manipulation. It also supplies the other gems with their power / energies. At its peak, has the capability of destroying galaxies. Is often used to boost the power levels of the other gems.*

Mind: Gives the user powerful psionic/mind powers such as telepathy, telekinesis, mind control, and can alter pre-existing mental powers of the user and others. At its peak, it can connect the user with all other beings in existence.

Time: User has complete control over the past, present, and future. Allows for seeing into all possible versions of the future, time travel, the age of any living being, and create infinite time loops at a planetary scale. At its peak, user can exist in all points in time simultaneously.

*for writing purposes, you can add that the Power stone has boosted another stone to a necessary power level, including peak.

There is no word limit or deadline for this writing challenge. You can write as many of these as you would like!

Writing Challenge 11: A Day in the Life

Not every day can be a “fight super villains” day.  Everyone puts their pants on one leg at a time (except Karla who just...magics her pants on), so, seeing as it’s time for another Writing Challenge, how about we do A Day in the Life?  

Write a one-shot about your character going through their day to day life, be creative, and have fun!

Writing Challenge 10: Animals

Hey, folks! Howzabout a writing challenge? As @dr-betty-ross pointed out, we haven’t talked about animals yet, so:

Write about an interaction your character has had with an animal! It can be positive or negative, domestic or wild, past or present -- and there’s no deadline or length requirement. Just make sure to tag your responses avenmsn wc10~

Writing Challenge 9: Halloween

I would like to say congratulations to all of your for mustering through the October Plots.  It's been an incredible journey and you've all done so well.  It's been over a year since our last writing challenge, and things have been pretty heavy with all the plot stuff we've been doing, so to lighten things between the end of the October Plots and the start of the November Plots, we on the Mod Team thought it was time for another Writing Challenge. 

Because of the time of year, and because so many of you mentioned wanting to do something for Halloween, we've decided that a Halloween theme would be perfect for you to exercise some freedom in your characters' lives.  So whether your character likes to go all-out with decorations and costumes, thows a party, are themselves a pagan deity to which Halloweeners worship, or somewhere in between, write up your stories for our ninth Writing Challenge!

Writing Challenge 8: Head Canon

It's been a while since we've had a writing challenge, and it seems like there's no better time to have one than after welcoming some new players! No matter how long we've been role-playing or who we play, we all have to fill in the blanks for our characters' histories and backgrounds, and now we want you to share one. The prompt:

Write about a head canon you have about your character that no one else knows about. It can be sweet, sad, funny, romantic, dramatic, mundane - whatever you want, as long as it's meaningful to you.

There is no deadline and no minimum or maximum length. Your only real requirement? Kick us in the feels.

Writing Challenge 7: Pizza

Due to popular vote, this writing challenge is all about pizza. The prompt:

Write about a time when your character had pizza.

It can be the first time, the last time, an emotional time, a happy time - whatever you want. As long as there's pizza.

There is no deadline for this, because pizza is forever. There is no minimum or maximum length for this prompt.

Writing Challenge 6: Heroes

So - we have a bunch of folks, super-powered and not, who are regarded as heroes in the public eye. But who do heroes worship? Your prompt:

Write about your character's (or characters') hero(es). This includes you, villains; you are, after all, the heroes of your own stories.

You can write a flashback, a recollection, a present-day interaction - as ever, the sky is the limit as far as form, and there is no minimum nor maximum length requirement.

You have until Tuesday, March 18 to post these. And remember to tag them with avenmsn wc6!

Writing Challenge 5: Happy(?) Holidays

With all of the winter holidays either coming up or just passing by, I'd like to give people a chance to talk about holidays for their character. This is a two part challenge!

Part 1: Write *Out of Character* how your character feels about holidays in general. Do they have fond memories of them, do they hate them, or do they not even celebrate any? Or anything in between. You don't have to include specific examples, perhaps just a paragraph or two about it.

Part 2: Write *In Character* about how they are currently feeling about this years holidays. Any anticipations, hopes, disdains, anxieties; whatever mindset your character is in now about the holiday season.

*Formatting: Have both parts 1 and 2 on the same post: part 1 fully visible, and part 2 under a read more.*

You have until Wednesday January 1st, 2014 to have these completed! (Wow, the new year really is coming up fast?!). There's no minimum or maximum length for either part.
