#RIPTomPalmer #averitableuniverse Here’s a rare Palmer drawing, just before Colan picked up penciling duties on the book. It’s surprising how clean it is, in contrast to his Colan inks. It’s heavily under the shadow of Ditko, but it’s a marvelously colorful and abstracted two page spread. One way that Colan left his mark on the comic was leaping away from Ditko’s version of the astral plane - rather than jewels, frames and infinite tinker toys, Colan interpreted the astral plane as a chaos of vortices and viscosities.
