Eagle in Grant Park, Chicago . . I’ve always loved eagles. I recall a vivid memory after dinner at a swanky Chinese Restaurant in Lagos called Golden Crown. The food was perhaps the best I’d ever tasted at the time. Prior to this event, my only experience with dining away from home was at Mr Biggs, a now defunct (or slowly dying) fast food chain I was lucky enough to get take-out from when visiting my parents at work in downtown Lagos. . This exposure to the culinary wonders of fine dining spurred me to make a mental note. I was going to open up a rival restaurant and call it ‘Golden Eagle’. It would be the best ever and I would even put up a Golden Statue of a bird outside the restaurant. Well, that dream is yet to be realized. I still love food, but restaurants these days, are mostly not worth the time, let alone the money. . One thing I still love, EAGLES. Maybe it’s because I wish I could soar high to truly appreciate the beauty of the world from an eagle’s eye view. Maybe it’s just theIr wings and association with royalty, strength and presence. Whatever its is, I invite you to enjoy this picture I took in Chicago, Illinois, alongside Michigan Avenue in Grant Park.
