Avery Hiller of Borracho, New Mexico, returns Baby Gruenwald after the iconic film baby fell asleep in a bag full of warm bread belonging to the finish carpenter.
Hiller had placed the sack of freshly baked multi-grain breads and bagels on the back seat of his 1962 Chevy Manservant before driving away with the tiny billionaire aerospace industrialist and national treasure on the morning of May 4, 1964, only realizing something was wrong when the baby informed him that he needed to be cleaned up and his diaper refreshed.
Though no one is sure how or when the baby crawled into the paper sack (Gruenwald refused to testify at the trial), Avery Hiller served only two years of a four year felony child endangerment conviction.
