I’m very split. I get why Magnus would be mad and I get why it’s bad for Alec to keep it from him and he should trust him but I also understand what horrible consequences there could be if the downworlds found out so I get why Alec would be hesitant to tell Magnus. He’s not just a boyfriend, he’s the head of an institute and in charge of the welfare of a lot of lives including mundades and downworlds not to mention he’s very new at the job and still quite young.

no i completely agree. its basically a rock and a hard place, and that’s why in the end they’ll work it out. alec has to figure out how to be a good boyfriend, son, brother, friend, shadowhunter and leader. that’s a lot to balance. magnus has been doing it longer, but its.. its a sticky situation tbh.

The downworlders need to teach the younger shadowhunters about leadership and how history keeps repeating itself until you make major changes. It’s just all so messy and it’d be so much easier if they could just all talk to each other as equals.

i agree. i feel like alec knows it, but its kinda like he hears it, but he’s also been kinda brainwashed, and has to reprogram and re structure how he thinks. not that the clave and its values is a 100% wrong, but its gonna take time. its not like it’ll be better over night.

It’s hard to ignore negative comments but they don’t know what’s going on in your head/body so they have no context to build their ignorant comments from. Sometimes we don’t have total control over our weight/health and that makes things harder and people tend to judge other without knowing about the things they can’t control. You’re trying to improve your health and they should commend you on that and leave the rest alone.
