Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras S/A, commonly known as Azul Brazilian Airlines, is a prominent airline based in Barueri, a suburb of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The airline’s business model focuses on stimulating demand by offering frequent and affordable air travel options, particularly targeting underserved markets across Brazil.

The airline was founded on May 5, 2008, by David Neilman, a Brazilian-American entrepreneur who also established JetBlue and Breeze airlines in the United States. Azul began its operations on December 15, 2008, and has since grown significantly. It currently stands as the third largest domestic and second largest international airline in Brazil.

In 2015, Azul initiated a fleet modernization plan by phasing out its older ATR 42-500 and ATR 72-500 aircraft, replacing them with the more advanced ATR 72-600 models. Today, Azul boasts a fleet of 40 ATR 72-600 aircraft, making it the leading airline in Brazil for servicing small airports with short runways.

The history of Singapore Airlines began in 1972 when it separated from Malaysia-Singapore Airlines, inheriting just a few Boeing 707s and 737-100s. Since then, the company has grown and developed successfully. By the 1980s, Singapore Airlines was setting the tone in the industry, introducing innovations such as in-flight entertainment systems and satellite phones, which seemed like science fiction at the time. From its earliest days, however, Singapore Airlines placed a strong emphasis on a modern fleet and high crew training standards, laying the foundation for the reputation it proudly upholds to this day.

This modern long-haul aircraft has become a key part of the carrier’s fleet, serving medium- and long-range routes. In Singapore Airlines’ configuration, the A350-900 accommodates 253 passengers and offers three classes of service.

The aircraft stands out for its exceptional fuel efficiency, thanks to advanced technologies such as the use of composite materials and Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, which were specifically designed for this model. Singapore Airlines deploys the A350-900 on routes such as Singapore to Amsterdam and Singapore to Cape Town, among others, highlighting its reliability. Today, the airline is one of the largest operators of this model, underscoring its commitment to innovation.
