There was a fire behind her expression that had everything to do with her being a redhead and little to do with how infuriating he actually was. An expression that could only be rivaled by it's pair that her mother could wear was directed at him and it took her a moment to gather her words at his question. Lips opening and closing a few times while she tried to get them out. In all honesty it probably wouldn't have been so strange to see steam coming out of her ears right now.

"That! That is exactly what makes you so infuriating because you don't get it! I KNOW I'm not required to stay here, Malfoy! I know it and I thought you knew it but if you don't know why at this point then maybe I am just wasting my time!"

She was doing it for him. To see him... to help him.

“I thought the business world was your whole domain?” Mira teased, glancing across the ballroom of Howl’s current and prospective associates, before meeting his eyes, smirking, and conceding. “Meh, you’re right. Business is business, but none of these people are people we can stab, and my knife hand’s getting twitchy.” 

With that, she drained the last drops of her cosmo and tossed a glass worth more than most people’s lives over her shoulder to shatter on the polished granite floor.

He didn't need to clarify what he meant, at least not for Tina. For the most part Tina usually understood whatever Newt was trying to say to her but it didn't change the fact that she felt bad still about him having to worry about everything that needed to be done.

"I know, but... there has to be something I can do. I can't just keep sitting here while you run around." She said a bit more softly, shifting a little and wincing at the pain in her side where the wound was but only a little. She was able to at least sit up for now. It wasn't even fully about him doing all the work now either but that Tina was never the type to just sit still. She needed to do something. Anything.

She had only just been fighting the urge to fall asleep for a little while now. Their little meeting had started as usual with some bantering, exchanging of what information that they could that usually included how well they were doing or not doing and once all was shared that could be they just... didn’t leave. Not yet anyway. Ginny didn’t want too and considering that Draco hadn’t suggested it yet either she assumed he didn’t want to either. So they sat, at first a part, but tiredness started to overcome her and she noticed she had leaned against him at some point.

She didn’t know what surprised her more though, the fact that he didn’t find an excuse to leave once she had or how he made her even more comfortable by conjuring a blanket and wrapping it around her. She didn’t say anything, afraid her words might break the moment, but instead moved closer, bringing the blanket with her so they could both be warm. Not going to suggest it, but thinking that she could stay like this all night....

If only she could just block him out like she unintentionally did for all those years before she realized how much he meant to her. Maybe then it wouldn't hurt as much. She didn't want to care. She didn't want to listen and she didn't want to hear whatever reasoning he had for what she just walked into she was done!

Except he had to just go and say he didn't know what happened. A rage filled her just enough to make her stop and look at him despite her original plan to blow right past him. "You? You don't know what happened? You know my schedule, you know my favorite food, you know everything-- but you don't know what happened to lead you into that room with that woman despite all the--" No. She needed to stop. She was going to cry-- and yes one day she would but not right now. Not in front of him. "I am looking at you and I do not like what I see."

It wasn't just the fact that Tom had never spoken to her like that before, mostly it was because most people who knew her didn't push her. Once Sam made her mind up there was no changing it. Ever. It was a fact that many didn't take long to learn but sometimes was challenged despite her making it clear that she was not one to be argued with. Sure as she grew up she might have stopped fighting with fists but her words could pack just as much a punch and well, she wouldn't hit Tom just because of him arguing with her right now. Even if it did surprise her.

Though despite her pause she supposed it shouldn't have been that much of a surprise. After all the last time she insisted she was going back to London, back home, he hadn't really put up much of a fight and that decision had just ended with more heartache. Maybe he was trying to protect her. Maybe he was trying to fight for her. Or maybe he really was just that afraid of losing her that he needed to be so firm on his stance but it did not change her mind.

"idée de merde is only so because I should have never left again in the first place." Her bloodline caused her to flee when Voldemort had gained control of the minsitry. Her kids could still prove pureblood line with their father's side of course and she failed at stopping them from staying thanks to the new school system and Liz choosing to work under cover at the ministry but after what she heard happened at Gringotts earlier she couldn't just sit by hiding here anymore. She wouldn't.

"You want to come on this suicide mission then it would be hypocritical for me to stop you but I'm going." Overcoming her surprise at his anger she just stared him down with just as much fire behind her eyes as he had.

Chris barely glanced up at Tom as he came into view. Rolling his eyes at the guy who was basically starting to feel like a dad wannabe with how much time he had been spending with his mother. He couldn’t say that aloud though without really risking an argument with Liz who had seemed to taking a liking to him or his mother being upset so instead he took to brooding and glaring whenever he got the chance. Like now.

“Everything is fine.” He insisted, turning a little away from Tom as he did so. “Mom’s stepped out if you’re looking for her.” He added almost as an after thought.

Well, all was said and done. They had just graduated, and Camren had thrown a promising future in Quidditch away to travel around with Belle, hunting monsters. A part of her hadn’t wanted to let him do it--think of the comfort he was throwing away, not to mention the money. 

But then, she’d never known comfort, and found she didn’t need it. Babs was getting cozy in her relationship with thee Devaux boy, and even as she promised to have Belle’s back, but Belle knew that one day her sister would retire into a lovely home with a white picket fence and 2.5 kids. Belle, on the other hand--all she desired was all she’d ever known: the open road. 

And maybe Cam was just the same. 

Anyway, how could she live without him, after the year they’d just gone through? 

She popped the car door open and said, “Then what’re you waiting for? Get in the van, y’little shit. We’re going on an adventure.”
