I'll say that according to my understanding to the Q&A, that the writer is saying that the ending is all depend on how the audience's own idea. If you believe that Zhiwei is not really dead, then there might be a chance for Ning Yi to meet her again in the future. And if you think Zhiwei is dead, then after Ning Yi full filled their ideal, they will have their reunion in another world.

That makes more sense to me.

I know that Chen Kun and Zhou Xun are the sort of BFFs always live in the same building upstairs and downstairs, and I think Chen Kun was also the person sent Zhou Xun to her husband on her wedding, his son was the one who handed rings. People always say that Chen is her biggest fan. As to Chen Kun and Zhao Wei, they used to be very best of friends when they were young, and people grew up, things changed, they are still friends now(I think), just not that close anymore.

Awwww, this is so cute! I totally understand that but I read something about Zhao Wei unfollowing him on Weibo and that seemed a bit odd and quite serious to me.

The story is quite complex, I think it's about something back to 2013, some of Zhao Wei's fans thought that Chen Kun didn't support her new movie on weibo(actually he did), and start to diss him heavily on social network. That continued for about a year and still have break outs now and then.

Omg, so now fans not only don’t let celebrities date but be friends as well? Come on.

that character is probably the most famous one of his. This character created a sort of social network fever for quite a while at China. Even now Chen Kun still always be known as 厂花 (Chang Hua, means the most beautiful one in the organization, the nickname fans gave to Yu Huatian).

It's said that because he didn't find the time to do it. And he doesn't do singing that much recent years, mostly due to he had a vocal polyp surgery several years ago and it changed his voice a bit.

There was a small bts moment where Chen Kun was teasing Ni Ni with a song and he sounded wonderful

In those acient novels or drama books or fairytales, it's common to use sachet as token of love. But there is a interesting fact, that normally sachets were given to males by females, but in this case is the other way around. I think that is because Ning Yi is not a ordinary man though. As a tastemaker maybe he just a little bit ahead of the fashion and the emperor just assume all fancy sophisticated stuffs as famine.

Yeah, I mentioned the "manly" satchets to emphasize that the fact that Ning Yi's satchet is important since it's "more feminine" and against the norm. Also, drawing back to that Ning Yi found the satchet of Gu Yan's wife, the idea that the satchet belongs to a woman important to Ning Yi, his mom, is likely.

Okay, one more question. Is it a white crane? All I know, if I’m not mistaken, it’s the symbol of longevity, immortality, also sometimes it stands for ambitions of an official to achieve a high rank. So, what is its meaning in the context of the drama and situation or it’s just random satchet the costume department picked.

just adding some other details, in another leaked out clip that after Yale's death, the emperor hold Ning Yi's hand to his forehead, and admit to Ning Yi that he was terrified all these years and refused him both because realizing how much Ning Yi is grown up to resemble him and how much he hated the possibility his son is going to the same sort of man just like him because the emperor hated the person he became for seizing the highest power. The emperor believed that one can only be heartless and merciless to be the emperor, this is the belief he practiced well all these years, but he don't want NingYi to be the same sort of heartless and merciless man. But fate sent NingYi to the exact same path as his father, this fact shocked the emperor.

What an important scene that we needed to see, Ning Yi and his relationship with father was one of the main conflicts in this drama. I didn’t need those looong scenes in which Ning Qi was going crazier with every second, I would rather watch the scene you mentioned. 

He didn’t want Ning Yi to be like him but he was deliberately ruining his life and giving him one traumatic experience after another, knowing that it will trigger his desire to seek revenge and justice - not wise.

because there are strict restrictions about no "uncutted version" or "undeleted version". Basically thoses leak outs are not allowed and the one who leaked those said we are only do this secretly at our secret site as treats. And now because the news is out, she has to clear the site out and deletes all the clips.

I didn’t know there’s such a thing as secret sites lol I just assume that as soon you post something online you can’t control it. 

But all the fuss bc of tumblr? When the post had like 30 notes and only about 5 of them were reblogs? 

Anyway, it’s a pity that it turned that way, if I knew that it’s that secretive, I wouldn’t have reblogged that.

And also the scene when Ning Yi went to see Zhiwei after her family's death, the courtesy he did before her mother's coffin is a very solemn sort that usually did by the descendents of the deceased. It meant that Ning Yi already recognized himself as Qiu Minyin's son in law.

And holding something to shelter the coffin also has some meaning in Chinese culture. Even with is no rain, in some area at China people will always hold umbrella or coats to shelter the coffin or cinerary casket, and at old time this usually can only done by male offsprings or if the deceased only has daughters then son in laws.

Wow. When I was watching these scenes, I already recognized those gestures as something very important, but with the cultural context, it makes it even more meaningful and powerful. Thank you for sharing!
