#avoiding my thoughts

Okay this is random but I'm just gonna ramble for a sec. Any artist on here may understand, so tell me if you do...

Why the hell is it so much easier to look at a picture and bam! Be able to draw it, BUT when it comes to drawing an idea from your mind (a vivid idea might I add), because you can't find a reference, and it looks as if a child did it??? Like wtf!?! Ugh. Sketching, and art in general, is a pain in the ass sometimes.
