How to avoid unnecessary spending in Cancun? Stay away from any worker in the club sporting a whistle around his/her neck and blowing it uncontrollably as if there were a blaze of fire somewhere close by. If you even look their way, they will lock eyes with you and force watered down 'hypnotic' into your mouth as if you have no other choice. Immediately after you swallow it (because what else are you supposed to do with a mouthful of imitation hypnotic?), the shot girls will shake your head, squeeze your tummy and blow that whistle some more, right in your face. Fun right? Being disoriented from all the shaking and noise isn't the only obstacle to worry about, you are now obligated to pay the $7-$10 they charge PER SHOT.
"Well I paid for open bar, I thought shots were included." That they are, my friends... with the massive exception of those shots given to you by the women with the whistles! So stay away, and when they're around don't even look in their direction. They're like the sun; An obvious and clear presence that you really want to look at....... but you know you cant!
If you want shots, free shots without the force feeding and unwanted head shaking, just ask your waiter!!
