i am so excited by the idea of alia and avrelian being sibling figures. they're never really described romantically in reliable texts, although its made very clear that brahe was in love with alia. there's something so good about alia abandoning her twin sister to join a new sibling. and just like aila lost her sister that day, alia loses avrelian because he leaves to confront the tsar. so then alia takes his identity and dies for it as well and aila is left completely alone with her sins in a closed off island that she tries to keep on its feet. what was the point of it all?
