Raf Simons' AW03 'Power Corruption Lies' Mod Parka.

No introduction necessary for this piece, rests comfortably alongside the pyramid and parachute bomber as one of Raf's most iconic and rare archival pieces, and is a splendid articulation of Raf's qualities as a designer and artist.

The piece is cut from soft but substantial cotton canvas, it also has a detachable polyester fleece interior layer. Clasp button concealed zipper, cord adjustable hood and funnel neck.

The parka is adorned with Peter Saville artwork, all of which has been hand painted onto the jacket. The famous 'Power Corruption Lies' artwork is a handpainted patch sewn onto the exterior of the coat.

The cut and fit is exquisite, as is the overall quality and finishing of the piece; the handcrafted nature of the coat means all of the remaining coats from this collection are individual and different from one another, even those of the same iteration.

The coat itself is darker than pictures indicate, the first runway picture that I have attached is the most accurate representation of the true colour.

For AW03 Raf was granted full access to Peter Saville's design archives, an artist he had a great affection for; Raf used Saville's designs in many of the pieces of the collection.
