Bringing Home the Cat
The closer he got to the Tower the more his chest ached. He can't believe he exploded quite this horribly over a simple word. But he had said it, even if he is now deeply regretting ever setting foot in the gym.
The content purring of the cat on the backseat only irritates him more.
But he couldn't just phone Kurt after breaking up with him oh god what did he even do. He uses the red light to press his hand against his eye. The stress headache keeps pounding in his ears.
At least Bruce wasn't against another cat in the house. That would have just topped off his day with a cherry.
Once in the garage he went up to the lobby and then ignored Miss Monroe while he got into the private elevator and hit Blue Floor.
Seeing the replaced nametag just stabs him where it hurts again. He shouldn't dwell on in too much.
If Kurt is feeling generous he will still have him as a friend. It had been enough before. It will be enough again. And if not - well. He pets the cat. Maybe he can start looking at those parties for a lay himself.
It should be easier, since he's not vetting them for future Hulks-Wife-qualities.
"Let's see if we can get you settled in quick." He tells the cat just as the screen turns red with an Intruder Alert and a prompt to please insert the Access Code.
