Today’s theme is...foxes! Culpeo foxes, to be specific, which are more closely related to wolves and coyotes than they are to Vulpes genus foxes (hence why I prefer to just call them Culpeos.. they’re not “fake foxes” ugh).
There’s two background Culpeos in Awka, “Happy” (who attacked baby Awka, and was then chased off by Nagduam as they met) and her wife “Smug”, they together killed and ate the pudú Punco,Firkü’s best friend -not even them knew whether there was a romantic relationship between the pudús or not haha.
These older pictures are concept art for them! (+a picture, art trade I think I once drew for someone, I like the bg)
They were originally meant to play a larger role in the story, but went demoted to BG characters, amontg many others who were flat out written off (and randomly cameo’d within the pages). Which was made for lenght/pacing (too many minor roles that got easily absorbed by the main cast), but sadly resulted in a “Deer comic” instead of the “many species comic” it was meant to be.
But oh well, BG characters and Cameos are still there to remind of biodiversity ^^

Apologies for the dissappearance,I had family over, got super busy with work, and then made a wee short trip. Needed to take a general break!
