Arthur, what is your favourite animal?

Oh, that’s an interesting question, Ivan… I’ve never really given it that much thought before; I don’t have any pets, you see… I think if I had to choose, it would be a parrot. I’ve heard they can be very loyal to the point of mourning the loss of their owner for the rest of their life if that person dies, and they live much longer than a dog or any other household pet. Loyalty is very important in any relationship, don’t you agree? And I wouldn’t want to have an animal that I’d grow attached to only to have it die very soon afterwards. They’re also very smart, and you can teach them to speak. Something like that could keep me company…

Yes, I think I like that a lot.

The servant's eyes shone brightly, seeing the priest who was sitting at the table and staring blankly in front of himself. Ivan gracefully walked towards him, approaching from behind , and spoke up in an unsurprising soft tone.

This was to catch his attention. The usual congenial , almost superior-looking smile was glued on his face ( as oxymorous as it may look ) , but we could wonder if he was truly as happy as he looked. However, why wouldn't he be, after all ? The plans were starting to take shape, the Prophecy was about to be carried out.

Ivan gently put a tray down on the table, sitting in front of the man who was then his associate, and anchoring their eyes together, pouring him a cup of tea without even bothering to ask if he wanted some.

Was he... Making fun of him ? God only knew, as the perpetual giggle suddenly bloomed inside of his throat once his voice was heard.
