“Captain, the deck is on fire," Leo yelled, bursting into Percy's quarters. Percy jumped, turning to glare at Leo, who's clothes were torn and hair was singed. “Then fix it." “It's a fire, sir. Not a loose gear," Leo responded, trying his best not to be too disrespectful. “And besides that, di Angelo is the one who caused the fire. Once it's started, it can't be put out." Percy let out a slew of curses, some that he'd never even knew existed until they flew from his mouth. “How's the crew?" Leo shifted uncomfortably, wondering if they should really be having such casual conversation if the deck was literally on fire at this very moment. “Annabeth, Piper, Jason, and Hedge are fighting best they can, and Hazel and Frank are trying to douse the fire. To no avail, of course." At this, Percy finally stood, gesturing for Leo to walk quickly behind him. “Reinforcements?" “Hedge contacted Captain Underwood. He should be arriving soon." Percy hummed in response, surveying the deck. Green fire was everywhere, and Hazel and Frank were busy pouring sea water on it, but the flames only burned brighter. Piper and Jason were fighting two skeletal pirates each, ripping off their limbs and throwing them far away, only to have the limbs fly back into place. Annabeth was fighting against a woman called Reyna, which looked like an even match. And Hedge was swatting at other skeletal pirates, taunting them and pushing his wooden club between their ribs. Skeletal pirates were hauling crates of Percy's collected riches onto di Angelo's ship, some being intercepted by either Hazel or Frank, but most were able to get through. Above all this madness, Percy spotted di Angelo himself, standing on the lookout post and looking down, wiggling his fingers to control the skeletal pirates in amusement. He looked same as always, dark hair wild and curly, dark eyes glinting with the fire, and the scars on his biceps stretching any time he had to flex, which was quite often given his pulling at the marionette strings of his pirates. Upon seeing Percy, his face brightened, and he jumped down from the post, landing with a thud in front of him whilst still controlling his pirates with his wiggling fingers. “Captain Jackson, what a wonderful surprise! Ah, it seems that one of your faithful subordinates hasn't got a skeleton to deal with," he said looking at Leo with a grin. “I can fix that." With a flick of his wrist and a flash of black and green, a skeletal pirate appeared beside Leo and lunged at him. Leo responded immediately, pulling out his sword and blocking the thrust. “Captain-" “I'll be fine. Stay safe." Leo nodded and stepped away, leading the skeleton away from the two captains. Captain di Angelo laughed, playing with the invisible strings in his hands. “How noble; how heroic! 'Stay safe.' Ha! I have no intention of hurting your crew, Jackson." Percy drew his sword, raising it cautiously to di Angelo's throat. “Then why the pirates? Why the fire?" He laughed again, seemingly unafraid of the sword. “All to get your attention, I'm afraid. It just so happens that I want your gold, but you are the main target." His fingers were still moving wildly, the skeletal pirates attacking Percy's crew perfectly, despite the fact that di Angelo had his back turned to the fights and his attention was directed at only Percy. “Why?" Across the deck, Reyna shouted, “because he's taken a fancy to you, Captain Jackson!" Percy's face felt a tad bit hotter than before, and he had a feeling it had nothing to do with the fire. “The 'why' is none of your business, I'm afraid. Maybe next time. Until then-" Di Angelo blew a kiss at Percy, his fingers stopping their wild dance as every skeletal pirate disappeared in green smoke, and then he ran, jumping onto his ship which was steering itself beside Percy's. Reyna was soon to follow, blowing her own kiss to Annabeth, who blew hers in turn. The ladies winked at each other, then Reyna was gone. Captain di Angelo slapped a hand to his forehead. “Almost forgot," he said, snapping his fingers. All at once, the green fire was enveloped in a black shadow swirl, disappearing within seconds. And then di Angelo's ship was gone quite the same way. Percy cursed under his breath. One day, he'd make that crazed necromancer pirate explain himself, and maybe Percy would figure out why his heart beat faster every time said crazed necromancer showed up. Until then, he'd have to explain once more why he'd called for Captain Underwood's reinforcements when seemingly nothing was wrong. ~ Hey this is based off that pirate au thing. I didn't come up with au, but I don't know who did so... but eh, I felt like doing some percico so here ya go. Bonus points to me for adding side reynabeth. Byeee~
