Altaïr considered her words before settling on his original stance. If he had had dragons when Rashid was around things would have been simpler. Plus the idea of Templars fighting dragons made him laugh. “Made things better for her that’s for sure.” He said with a nod at mother of dragons who was currently watching with what looked to be glee at the burning of slavers
Reaching out the young man grabbed the bowl of various chips Cecily had prepared for this marathon, slowly bringing them back as not to disturb the warm cave the two had made. Chips were a food Altaïr was glad had been invented. “Makes me wonder if she’d end up one of the Brotherhood’s targets if she really existed.”
“Perhaps. But the closest things we have to dragons are giant Iguanas.” And iguanas, according to Cecily, were not that scary at all. Giant lettuce eating lizards that people sometimes treated like dogs. But Altaïr had seen so much more than she ever would, who was to say that centuries ago they weren’t scarier. She’d let him enjoy his little moment. Picture Templars chasing giant, fire breathing, winged iguanas with crossbows or pitch forks or whatever.
“If she were real,” Ces began, “Both sides would undoubtedly fight for her. I mean-- dragons, Al. Bloody bitch has actual dragons. The templars would want to own her and we would want to use her to take them down.” She sighed after a moment, reaching into his bowl and snagging a few crisps. “Are we really any better? At the end of the day both sides are fighting for what they believe is right.”
