hey!! i broke my cello before my concert and i got it repaired but since i've gotten it back i've been worried that i'll drop it again or the neck will snap off (where it broke). it was outside its case when it dropped, but i had a soft case and now i have a hard one and i feel safer w/ it in there. what can i do so i'm less nervous when playing? it fell on its back and the tailpiece came off, the bridge came off, and the strings came off while attached to the neck
Oh yikes ): I dunno what to say besides be extra careful with regards to soothing your mind. Remember to breathe before, during, and after performing. Keep your instrument in mind as you play but don't fish up the memories of it breaking - concentrate on the music and breathe. I also always recommend hugging your cello for extra seratonin.
