a quick poem comic i sketched up to explain my character's backstory in a way that makes sense. this character is kind of an attempt to put a description to a very specific nonhuman emotion i find myself having frequently.

the poem itself:

the walker

for the first time in their life they are alone maybe curiosity gone wrong maybe a curse but they can only walk now

they reach into the water to hear the rest only old echoes speak the separated rest don't risk approaching

they used to be the drifters eating algae and smaller mollusks floating along with the upper currents swimming from hungry threats the thread snapped

they used to be the hunters fighting others for panicked food sheltering in the darker for the right time to pounce the thread snapped

the used to be the mind the all the think, the instinct a slow grow and a dull hunger pulls at them frantically the thread snapped

and they can't go back

I love talking theatrically articulate and slightly overly verbose with incorrect emphasis and melodic and overall just letting my words be strange and off. it's so fun and fulfilling
