Help idk who to ask ur the only critical role interested person I follow HOW DO I START CRITICAL ROLE ENJOYMENT IM SO LOST ALL THE TIME
Oh boy. Well, you have two options for their campaigns. You can either start with Campaign 1: Vox Machina, which is fully completed at 116 episodes (a one-shot just came out recently bringing the characters back for one final hurrah). Or you can watch Campaign 2: The Mighty Nein, which is currently ongoing (and I think they just hit episode 51? I am not caught up on this). Campaign 2 also has quick, short episode recaps, if you just wanna speed through it to get to the live watching. They take place in the same world on different continents but you don’t need to watch the first campaign to start the second!
Campaign 1 is nice because they had been playing the characters for 2 years before streaming, so they’re already bonded and a found family, and fantastic.
Campaign 2 is nice because you get to see these guys go from itty-bitty level 2 babies to full-blown adventurers and watch them become bonded and it’s lovely.
They will both break your heart.
They are also all available in podcast form! This super helps with catching up.
If both of those are still too daunting to get into just yet, they do a lot of one-shots! The one they’ve done that has 3 episodes is Honey Heist, but they have so many to choose from.
Their new youtube channel has a lot of other shows by the cast. They got All Work No Play with Sam Riegel and Liam O’Brien, Pub Draw where the cast learns to draw from Babs Tarr, Mame Drop, #EverythingIsContent and coming soon - Travis Willingham’s Yee Haw Game Ranch.
You can watch any of these at all, and you’re instantly a Critter. Don’t worry if you can’t catch up quickly or if you take breaks. I watched nearly 100 episodes in a row, and watched about 30 of those live, and it was a whole lot. I’m not caught up on either campaign and haven’t watched nearly any of their other content. Take your time and fall in love with the characters and actors! You’ll enjoy the ride!
