Netflix’s White Lines Ending Explained – Who Murdered Axel Collins?
Netflix's White Lines is a murder mystery unlike any other, happening against the breathtaking backdrop of Ibiza, home to some of the world's wildest parties. Laura Haddock is starring as Zoe Walker, a woman traveling to the island to investigate her brother's disappearance, Axel Collins, who was a famous DJ until he was missing 20 years ago. White Lines gradually reveals what happened to Axel over the course of its 10 episodes, after the jaw-dropping birthday party from which he mysteriously disappeared. If you do not want the series to torment you, do not read any more! Here's what happened to Axel Collins, actually. Who Murdered Axel Collins? The series finale revealed that Anna (Kassius Nelson / Angela Griffin) was the one who killed Axel after 10 dramatic episodes that saw multiple suspects emerge – but she did not act alone. It was revealed that in the days leading up to his party, Axel had been going through a personal crisis, no longer happy with his lavish party lifestyle on Ibiza. As a result, he sold the rights to all his music, as well as to the clubs he had set up with Anna, Marcus, and David, for a fraction of what they were worth to the powerful Calafat family. He after which piled all the money into a huge wooden sculpture that he set on fire to add to his birthday celebration's spectacle, all without breathing a word. His aim was to make a clean break from the island with the people he truly loved, and start a new, healthier life elsewhere. Needless to say, things just did not go to plan exactly... As his group winded down, Axel and Anna were alone for a moment where he told her what he had done. She was furious as you would imagine, that he gave up the fortune of the community without consulting them. Axel was in a swimming pool, snorting cocaine off the side of the water when he started to convulsion. Anna held his head below the surface rather than helping him, until he drowned as revenge for what he did. Immediately afterwards, Anna asked her lover, Marcus (Cel Spellman / Daniel Mays), for assistance in disposing of the body, throwing it into the car of Oriol Calafat. To their horror they heard a noise in the boot as they approached an empty stretch of lane-Axel was still alive! He freed himself and began slowly limping backwards, at which point Marcus had to make a decision: would he stand by his lover, who would face serious jail time for his actions, or his mate, who had stolen his fortune from him? He sadly chose the former, backing up the car to knock down Axel, before Anna finished the job by smashing a sharp object into her face. Since her arrival on Ibiza, given how helpful and friendly Anna and Marcus had been to Zoe, their involvement in the death of her brother came as a really shocking twist. Two other suspects were found innocent of the crime, David and Oriol, having spent the evening together after taking heroin.
