{ ≊ } - There was nothing to do, there was no point in even trying anymore- nothing that he could nor wanted to do. Everything had turned to normal, and yet it never felt the same- nothing ever felt the same after that day. The day that she decided to disappear from the world, and no matter how much he hated it- he couldn't get mad, he could only fall deeper into the darkness of his mind, the mind that didn't even care anymore. The sea that she loved so much, to use her own life to protect was something that he didn't care about, he had lost hope in the sea a long time ago...
but why couldn't have it been him?
It was something that he thought about a lot, something that he wished, because as much as he didn't care about the sea that had raised him- the world was always so cruel and the things he cared about never lasted. He would have gladly taken his own life to protect the one thing that he did care about, so why, why couldn't it have been him to be the one to disappear? It was something he couldn't understand...
It was a rare time, but every now and again- he went to the palace, to see the pearl above it- shining a bit as it had before, but it wasn't the same, no it was so much different this time. A lot of feelings were stirred inside him every time he glanced at such a thing... and yet it brought a calming peace even if he didn't want to admit it. Maybe it was like seeing her smile- the smile that he could no longer see, her voice that he felt like he was forgetting after so long, and it was scary- he didn't want to forget her voice, the voice that called his name so lovingly once upon a time.
He always promised himself he wouldn't shed any tears, but he knew that there was going to be a breaking point- as he held back his tears with everything that he could, because in the end- there was no use in crying, it never did anything for him nor anyone so he held back his tears no matter how much it hurt.
Giving a small sigh, he whispered to himself quietly, his eyes rather dull, almost a lifeless feel to them as he looked up at the pearl one more time, shifting his weight to walk away from it- for the most part it was rather painful to even be near it, because after all it was the single reminder that she was gone, forever..
❝You really shouldn't have left,
There's no point in this sea without you,
Wadanohara ❞
