#selftier2k17 Cosplay Challenge!

Hello Homestucks! If you were at the Homestuck meetup at AX and stayed through to the end you probably heard me, a lone Mage of Breath, yelling about a challenge! and that challenge is this:

Next year, at Anime Expo 2017 I would like to see more people cosplaying their selftiers.

Honestly my favorite thing about the homestuck fandom is the creativity. Coming up with so many AUs and designs for the characters and then cosplaying those designs is amazing! The goal with this is to really tap into that potential and see what we really can do!

I got a lot of compliments on my cosplay (picture to be posted soon unless someone has one already!) and people seemed really interested in the idea! I really think this is a great way to show off our creativity as a fandom, especially with prop design. With the punch-card alchemy system theres a TON of room for crazy weapon ideas, and the god tier pajamas themselves are HIGHLY customizable as Meenah showed us in comic!

The HS cosplay scene has slowly been dying down since the comic ended and im hoping having new to do will help our fandom stay alive until Hiveswap released, and i hope that this will really help our creativity expand so much more. And YES that includes troll designs! I myself might be in my God Tier as a troll but i havent decided yet.

I want to use this tag, #selftier2k17, as a resource tag as well as a way to promote it! we can post tutorials and cosplay resources here as well as WIP pictures to share ideas and processes as well as to give advice and tips! If this gets big enough I will make a blog for selftier cosplay resources as well as a list page for all the confirmed god tiers that are going to be made as well as the bloggers making them.

Feel free to post about this on Instagram, Twitter, and other media as well! spread this around! I want people to see it and join in and be inspired! And even if you dont plan on cosplaying as your selftier please consider helping spread this around to people who might!
