Good luck to BGSU Falcon Hockey as they enter the CCHA Mason Cup playoffs!
42 years ago, two former BGSU players, Mark Wells and Ken Marrow, played in what became known as the “Miracle On Ice” Olympic game in Lake Placid New York.
Mark Wells was a center for the team and played as #15. As a Falcon, he played as #10 and was a star forward, ranked 7th of all-time in points scored at BGSU. In his four seasons, he scored 231 points over 154 games played, with 77 goals and 154 assists.
Ken Morrow played defense for USA (and BGSU) with #3. He went on to have a successful NHL career with the NY Islanders, including becoming the first men’s ice hockey player to win an Olympic gold medal and a Stanley Cup in the same year (1980).
