I think one of the most hysterical 'there's a fictive in here but we don't know that' signs we've retroactively discovered to date is: in high school there was this manga we really enjoyed, although we got fixated on a character that appears relatively far into it.
We own volumes 1 and 3, because they were the early volumes; and volumes 8 and 11, because those included the first appearance and then main storyline centering around that side character.
We collected a lot of series, and this is the only one where we did something so specific (barring one where we singled out a volume for a one shot story it had, but we also had more of that series to start with)
Furthermore it's one of our top favorite series to this day so not focusing more on collecting it is just.... weird???
