Kyo was out for a walk. He had needed an escape from his family. The family that hated him, that judged him. Of which he longed to escape or be one with. He just wanted to belong. To not be judged, not that it was ever really a possibility. While his whole family was made of freaks, he was the freak of the freaks. And so he wandered listfully, not quite sure of where his body was taking him, not that he really cared. As long as it was away, that's all that mattered. As he walked, a familiar thought of running away crossed his mind. Surely no one would care if a beast like him suddenly went missing. They would all be happy, right? Wrong. They needed the cat. They needed him simply to hate. Simply because he was the true freak. He made them feel better about themselves, while he grew to hate himself as well as them more and more each day. So lost in his thoughts, the cat hadn't noticed the approaching rain until it started to fall upon him. Shivering, feeling weak, he slinked into the nearest alleyway, standing under a narrow alcove. Looking out the street, the cat was lost. He gave a harsh laugh. Perhaps this would be his eacape. Maybe he would be able to be alone. To die alone. Watching the walking people was mesmerizing. All these normal people with normal lives. Kyo could not help but imagine what it would be like to be normal. To escape the curse forever. With thoughts as dark as these, it was no surprise that he had something terrible planned for that night. The night he hoped would be his last one.
