Emperor Lambert, masc and fem
Thoughts in general
I have been really thinking about how I have been representing Lambert's gender visually and Im sure most people could tell that their body looked very woman like biologically. This was actually because when I first joined the cotl stuff, %90 of my mutuals and the artists I have followed had their lambs biologically female or afab nonbinary. (I was also not used to drawing men)
I want to go against this.
Not because this is wrong to do, but because;
-I have blocked %90 of these people I used to interract with and I do not want to feel their influence on me (get over it ayca, I know I know, deconstructing and actively choosing to refuse other peoples influences on you takes time ok?)
-Amab nonbinary people are not as accepted as afab nonbinary people from what I have gathered and I want to have a a character like this in a more, "hey! they exist and they are here!" Kind of way
-Many lamb ocs feel like a self insert character. There is nothing wrong with having a self insert character. I just personally don't want Lambert to be like that.
-I do not want my narilamb to feel like an uwu soft cute petite small but badass Y/N×Mafia Boss age gap relationship thing. I do not like these tropes. (Lambert is 26 and Narinder is 29 in my au)
-I want a biologically male character wanting and loving femininity and being feminine while also loving their own body and not wanting to change anything about themselves. Once again, there is nothing wrong with wanting the opposite of this, I have trans characters with the opposite concept, I just want to explore this type of gender in my main character.
So yeah. These are my reasons.
I know people misgender Lambert a lot and refer to them with he/him prounouns. I don't really like it but it gets really tiring to constantly correct people especially when they are trying to be nice and engage with my content so I kind of gave up on correcting people 😅 I just want people to understand their prounouns and vibes in the story without the character going "I am amab nonbinary and I use they/them prounouns".
I want it to feel natural. Because trans people are natural and accepted in my au's world. (There is some misogyny that feels like both woman hating and transphobia but it won't be as severe as it was in our world/medieval era)
Though I might add a few scenes where Lambert corrects someone just for the people who aren't sure if Lambert is nonbinary or not.
I don't want to underestimate my readers intellect tho so it will probably just be a funny scene.
So yeah, my work is queer through and through but I don't want things to be too stereotypical. (You can never completely escape stereotypes tho lol)
