OGHAM IN DOWNFALL!
Those hash marks on Ayden's shield are Ogham, the written form of Gaeilge, which is Irish. Normally, Ogham is vertical, and the ">" shape is usually at the bottom/end. This would be pronounced, "nedia." It might have been in error placing the > at the wrong end, and it was meant to read "aiden."
