But I need to like, gush about how fun they are as a ship. Its hard to like, condense their lore but Essentially Leo treating someone with gentle intimacy out of selfless duty because the person in question is dying, well thats bad. Because it isnt coming from an authentic place. Aydin is dying from a mist related injury where hes Essentially a portal to the fissure of woe and its consuming him, its being held back by his revenant legend (Almorra) but its still a ticking bomb that requires Something to hold it at bay. Leo is someone so in tuned into the spectral world and this chosen duty to assist ghosts he has a particular fondness for things that are dead and dying. He knows Aydin is as lonely as he is, and so he goes "This man is dying, I know what its like to be in a relationship and treated a certain way. I will give him that experience so his last moments on tyria are gentler on his soul." To Leo, Aydin may as well be dead already. He views this as selfless, its another duty to a ghost to get them to pass on. Except Aydin isn't dead, and nobody asked Leo to do this. Its made worse that Leo ends up falling for his own lie and does develop actual feelings for him. It doesn't change the fact it was something borne out of pity, and that Leo doesn't even see it as what he did being a bad thing because it was For aydin, I like calling it "selfish selflessness." Theres sooo much about Aydin that makes him so inescapable with Leo, like connecting to him in a magical way by Aydin using Leo's shroud as an anchor to first contact Aydin's legend. Or being the only one around (outside Aurene) during leo's recovery in eotn, seeing him at his worst moment. Becoming his rock during Drizzlewood, that leads into Leo sending a letter to Jhavi as the new vigil general requesting that Aydin join Dragon's watch and assist them leading into Eod. Anyway. Once again Leo has a complicated relationship that he crafts 5 different torment nexus reasons for why he lets Aydin get close to him while also impluse indulging anyway. *thinks about Aydin's lore with primordus* EEK !!!!!
