An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Chris and Ellie meet up stateside after their serendipitous first meeting at a nightclub. It’s definitely just a coffee, and absolutely not a date…
Actually, the more that I think about this Ubis*ft fiasco with rampant sexism (that does not surprise but still disappoints), the madder I am. I LOVED Aya when I watched the game’s “movie” on YouTube, and may have actually bought and played it if they’d done what they planned and made her the protagonist.
The fact that someone at the company had that kind of power to green light or kill a project was such a sexist piece of shit who regularly harassed (and let’s be real probably assaulted) his female staff is frankly disgusting. I’m tired of men. I’m tired of this. Nepotism and favoritism in organizations is a fucking disease, and I’m looking forward to all these shitty attitudes about how women “don’t sell” going the way of the dinosaurs.
Y’all made Amunet/Aya effectively the founder of the assassin order and then had the audacity to sideline her like that because “women don’t sell”? Choke. The male characters have their own merits, and these new details coming out don’t come as a shock, but they do come with sadness and disappointment. I don’t know how they’re going to justify this with Eivør, but let’s hope future games see the change we deserve.
Assassin’s Creed has always been my “I wish I knew how to quit you” series, and it’s shit like this that starts pushing me towards actually quitting.
