Sage removed his hands from Ayla’s eyes as they arrived at their destination for the night. He was visiting her in Hidden Springs where she decided to stay with Haley. Though, the two had spoken about making Bridgeport their home when they had decided to become more serious. Long distance dating was hard and Sage wanted to keep holding the girl of his dreams in his arms. “Well, what do you think?”
He watched as Ayla’s eyes widened, a tear escaping her eyes. She turned around and glared at him, sniffling a bit. “You’re making me ruin my makeup!”
“You look cute either way,” He replied, leaning in to steal a kiss which she was happy to give him. “I wanted to give you something for you to put on your social media. I know how much that means to you.” Though the last part was a joke, he could already see Ayla reaching for her phone in her pocket. Laid out onto the grass was a picnic basket under an archway that had lights hung up above it. A night under the stars.
“This is amazing,” She whispered, throwing her arms over her man. “You really are a sweetheart.” She hoped that every minute she spent with Sage made her feel this way, though she was sure that it would. No amount of distance, or danger, could keep them apart.
“There’s one more thing. I’ve decided to take a job at Hidden Springs police department with Haley which means…”
“You’re staying here?” She cried. “Baby! That’s amazing news! You can stay with Hales and I…”
Sage cut the girl off, knowing she’d excitedly throw plans his way until she had run out of ideas. “I’m getting an apartment so you can live with me. We can take our relationship to the next level. But until then, let’s enjoy our evening.” He led her to the picnic area where the two enjoyed each other’s company for the remainder of the night.
