aync job queue: Tranquility
Tranquility is the code name for a project to queue/throttle async jobs. Under the current config, dev vm's will not execute more than 3 jobs at a time (as compared to the currently unbounded number). Furthermore thats 3 jobs of 3 different types. It will only execute 1 job of each type at once. This is configurable if you decide thats too low, but our devvm's are delicate flowers -- we dont' want to stress them out. What this means is -- after you sync this change -- your vm will begin sending its async jobs to the TQ system already running on it. (ps aux | grep tranquility) Thats a good thing. That means that you no longer have the ability to overwhelm your vm system with 15k console jobs. Instead, you'll get 15k tiny files in /box/var/tranquility_queue. Each contains the json specification for the job that will be run. TQ will dispatch the jobs to workers as they finish.
