German is my native language and everyone in Germany learns English in school. no exceptions. in 6th grade I could choose between Latin and French. I chose French but since I wanted to learn both, I started to learn Latin by myself with the help of a friend who took Latin.

oooh! that’s cool! i’m brazilian so portuguese is my native language and we also have to learn english at school, and also spanish (no other choices available). i have some cousins in germany so it was my fourth language bc i wanted to talk to them better.. and then it spiraled into fluency in those four and bits and pieces of other eight because i’m.. very enthusiastic about learning things as you’ve probably noticed by now?
