Hey Valentine! I’m glad you’re excited about the prompt, because I was really worried it would be awful! If you want a little more wiggle room with it, feel free to do a ‘ships passing in the night’ scenario in any setting you like (that’s probably what I should have prompted to begin with). :)
My favorite Valentine’s memory would probably have to be the first V-Day after my husband and I started dating. We hadn’t been together very long at all (like, maybe three weeks at most) so we both agreed not to make a big deal out of the day. Except then on the day he showed up at my dorm with flowers and a goodie bag, filled with a new sketchbook, a pack of colored pencils, and a bag of strawberry Creme Savers. But the best part I didn’t find until after he’d gone back to his dorm for the night. He’d hidden a card in my desk. Inside was a really sweet note telling me how wonderful I was, painstakingly written in neat cursive using the colored pencils he’d bought (really impressive when you consider how atrocious his handwriting is), with a different color for each word. I still have it, 15 years later. :)
tl;dr my husband is a really sweet sappy romantic and I love him for it. :D
