That's not counting anything I'm keeping to replay on a slow loop, or to dip into for the post-game content if there's not much new gameplay left, or for multiplayer. (Golden Sun, Fire Emblem games where I haven't unlocked all the supports, TWEWY and its reports, main series Pokemon, the GBC Pokemon card game, etc.) Some of the games I didn't get when they were new have gotten rare and expensive in the meantime, so I've stopped worrying about buying things before I have time to play them. You don't get many RPGs in the shops around here; I only ever saw a lot of this stuff 2nd hand. I have traded in a few old games recently, and given some to my younger cousins.

I wear boots and socks all year round, and didn't think it was odd until a coworker asked 'even in summer'? But since she'd mentioned it, one day in the heatwave a few weeks ago, when I was really struggling and still a train ride away from home, I bought some little flats from a men's sports shop and changed into them outside, and it really helped. Not gonna wear them terribly often, though.

I loved learning languages at school and university, and I keep meaning to get back to it as a routine. I can sometimes understand simple French, and I'd like to get fluent – and to get beyond beginner level in Latvian and Japanese, plus learn a bit of Spanish, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Thai, and maybe Latin and ancient Greek. Need to make more use of the books and CDs sitting on the shelf.

I don't know if it's an outright allergy, but my system tends not to do so well with cow's milk or white flour. Over-processed foods are bad news in general.

I only recently found out from my dad that on the mining estate where he grew up, people didn't keep dogs on leads, they just let them wander around. The first time he visited my mum in a more middle-class area, he was really weirded out by the sight of dogs on leashes, and needed it explained.

I'm half Latvian; my maternal grandparents moved to England to escape the war. Some of the extended family got sent to Siberia, but I hear they made it back to Latvia eventually. Mum flew over to visit with Grandma a few years after the iron curtain fell. I've never had the chance, but we're planning to take a trip together sometime. Assuming Russia doesn't invade again.

I like my job, but I ended up crying in front of one of my managers the week before last over insensitive HR stuff. When my line manager came back from leave this week, we had a chat, and he said he was embarrassed that the situation had happened (by the company, not by me, he specified), and he thanked me for still wanting to work for them. I really hope it works out – I was overly optimistic in my last job, and put up with a lot bc I believed them when they said it would stop, but this place does seem different. If I can see the contract through, my career should be in an okay place whether or not this turns into a permanent position.

I did a degree in Chemistry for both a serious and a silly reason. 1: It's the middle science, a course which lots of employers value even if you don't aim to get a PhD and go into research. 2: (al)chemist.

In an end of term physics class at school (the sort where they don't attempt real work because it's almost xmas), a teacher once had us do a crossword on the board, and when I guessed 'Higgs boson', nobody else had heard of it. He was a bit put out that apparently none of them did any reading around the subject, but I didn't read pop science string theory stuff for school, it was just interesting.

Hahah, glad you enjoyed! I definitely recommend earlier games — esp. since they're getting redone and ported to the eshop! I enjoyed Dual Destinies but it was actually my least favorite, all the other games are also SO FUN :p

Although I'll probably have to wait a while to purchase them, since I already have a bunch of other things I wanna get. Hope it's not too pricy...I also need to get Apollo's game as well. Good grief, my love for that boy is astounding. And since Dual Destinies is my first Ace Attorney game, I don't have a lot to compare it with. But it was fun and it got me into the series, so it'll probably always hold a special place in my heart, even if another one of the games becomes my favorite.

Menardi

Why I like them:She’s devoted to her cause, and there are lines where you can see that she feels her party are the ones being persecuted, even though she’s being chased by children whom she hasn’t tried explaining things to.

Why I don’t:…She fights to the death against children whom she hasn’t tried explaining things to. I can maybe buy the headcanon that she’d have sent the kids home alive if she and Saturos had won, but you’d have thought they’d try everything before throwing their own lives away unless they’d become incredibly cynical and prideful, and the way they killed the scholars in Venus Lighthouse casts doubt on their ability to show mercy.

Favorite episode/scene:Probably the scene where she and Saturos reconvene after fleeing Sol Sanctum alone, since it shows what they’re like when they’re not addressing an opponent.

Favorite line:"Oh, Saturos, they want to…"

Favorite outfit:That’s a very nice dress. How does it look soaked in blood?

OTP:It depends. Romantic Menardi/Saturos often works well, but it can also be interesting to give both of them civilian partners back home (how many people did Isaac have to apologise to?), or to headcanon that their partners died in the first raid on Sol Sanctum, leaving the two best warriors widowed (and widowered?), or to go with Agatio/Menardi (giving him more of a reason to travel with Karst). I can see Menardi/Saturos/Alex in situations where the Proxians are teammates-with-benefits and Alex wants to secure favourable treatment from both of them, but I can’t really see Menardi bothering with Alex on her own – maybe because they don’t have so many lines together?

Non-romantic OTP:Menardi/Saturos as teammates - either platonic, or with a non-romantic ‘sex is a great form of stress relief’ relationship.

Headcanon:I’ve been wondering whether the scholars in Venus Lighthouse might have become targets after the army got one or two of them to attempt a sneak attack. Y’know, “Woe is me, I’m a helpless elderly civilian” - *tries to stab Felix or Alex while the combatants aren’t looking, fails epically and turns all of the scholarly old men into an ambush threat in the Proxians’ eyes.* Otherwise it’s hard to see why they’d even spare the time to attack them while they were in such a hurry. But considering how quickly they progressed, I’m not sure the army ahead of them would’ve had much time to set that up in advance. Might need to replay that part to figure out how likely it is. :/

Unpopular opinion:What’s unpopular? People generally seem aware of the Proxians’ flaws, annoyed that DD referred to Saturos as the party leader, etc.

A wish for them:Well, since ghosts are canon, I hope she came to find some sort of closure and understanding regarding the quest, even after her death.

An oh-god-please-don’t-ever-happen for them:Her next youngest relative followed her into the grave, her death was ridiculed in the ‘dim dragon’ obstacle course… What more can the series do to her? Please don’t let it get any worse, I guess.

5 words to best describe them:Powerful, desperate, ruthless, terrible communicator.

Saturos

Why I like them:Similar to Menardi, plus more chemistry with Alex.

Why I don’t:Same as Menardi.

Favorite episode/scene:In his case, maybe the Shaman Rod scene, since it shows how his mind works.

Favorite line:Nothing immediately springs to mind.

Favorite outfit:His armour looks pretty good, but I want to see fanart of other outfits.

OTP:Menardi, Agatio, another Proxian, or Alex are all good options.

Non-romantic OTP:Menardi, as described above. (When it comes to Saturos/Alex, I don’t think either of them would want a romantic relationship, but Saturos would probably feel that there were some inherently romantic elements to the whole idea of getting special treatment from the healer. Sports massages rather than sparring? Nice herbal scents rather than sweat and blood? Superficial obedience rather than shared leadership? He’d have to be very careful not to let it go to his head.)

Headcanon:Another headcanon for the Proxians is that they have one of those cultures where the grandparents typically raise the children, since their army seems to be about half composed of female warriors. So Saturos and Menardi might have expected to have kids, leave them at home, teach them to fight, and eventually retire in time to raise their grandchildren.

Unpopular opinion:I can’t really imagine non-horrible Saturos/Jenna, but I’ve seen cute fluffy art and I’d like to see someone pull it off somehow?

A wish for them:Same as Menardi.

Alex

Why I like them: Uh, because he’s fairly relateable. Seriously. In the first couple of games, while the other characters are prone to knee-jerk reactions and needlessly fatal meetings, he actually thinks before he speaks (whether he’s trying to be tactful or not), and he usually tries to separate people after a fight (or keep them separated to prevent anything happening in the first place). And he gets defensive when life gets complicated, insisting that he doesn’t care about the people in front of him because he doesn’t think he can afford to get attached, which reads as slightly tsundere-ish, making his flaws pretty sympathetic. I sometimes wonder whether I make him too ‘nice’, considering how much of a jerk he can be in canon, but then I look back over my endless rambling about him and realise I’ve described some seriously calculated, manipulative and cruel behaviour, and people reply with comments like “yeah, he’s such a bastard”, so I guess I’m not entirely seeing him through rose tinted glasses. Which is a relief, since it’s relatively hard to write from any other character’s point of view. And the cutscenes without him tend to get really… “Why all this filler? Where’s Alex with the plot and exposition?”

Why I don’t:THE GRAVE ECLIPSE. If GS4 can give a good explanation, the full story might be interesting. Otherwise, it could get really hard to care - about him or the series.

Favorite episode/scene:The section in Alhafra, where he and Felix do seem to make the effort to get along until they both depart.

Favorite line:"Feel free to help whomever you like if it truly makes you happy. Perhaps capturing Briggs marks the beginning of your dreams coming to fruition."

Favorite outfit:His DD outfit is gorgeous, but I love the old one too.

OTP:Mia, Felix, Saturos, Isaac, Ivan, Piers and Veriti in particular, but almost the whole cast tbh. Though not all at once. I’m very fond of Alex/Mia/Isaac/Felix and Alex/Veriti/The Ice Queen. I’d love to see some good Alex/Jenna or Alex/Sheba, since they seem like they could have potential with the right character development, but I haven’t found or thought up much yet.

Non-romantic OTP:Mia, Felix, Piers, Kraden and Hama, in various headcanons/plotbunnies.

Headcanon:His attitude towards violence is heavily influenced by his healer upbringing, even if he tends to discuss it in terms of cause & effect, rather than right & wrong. Since he couldn’t help but learn how to deal with its consequences, he appreciates the lasting effect it can have on people, and he will always see needless violence as a very, very blunt instrument. When his plans do lead to bloodshed, he doesn’t expect people to understand or forgive – he just tries to place himself at a safe distance from the consequences. (In terms of both keeping people at a physical distance, and making sure he’s several links removed in the chain of responsibility.)

Unpopular opinion:That he’s often quite sympathetic?

A wish for them:That he plays an essential part in saving the world, and the heroes acknowledge it, even though they can’t let him have things all his own way.

An oh-god-please-don’t-ever-happen for them:That he turns out to have only cliche evil motivations, and gets himself killed fighting the heroes.

5 words to best describe them:Only five? How terribly insufficient.

My nickname for them:"No, baby, what the fuck are you doing? Seriously, what the hell are you trying to accomplish here?"

Karst

Why I like them: She cares about her sister, and she knows what she wants.

Why I don’t:She wants revenge so badly that she seems pretty unconcerned about the whole ‘unseal Alchemy to save Prox’ quest – if Felix or Alex outright ask her to help, then sure, she knows she’d better, but otherwise, whatever, she’s got better things to do. Things like killing anyone who hesitates to kill people with her. She turns on Felix so readily, I don’t get the impression she ever gave a damn about him. If she was a nicer person before she lost her sister, it’s… really hard to imagine.

Favorite episode/scene:Her first scene with Felix’s party, where she acts like they’re on the same side, even if she has her own skewed priorities.

Favorite line:"You were traveling with her – bring her to me! She would never have left you behind… and yet you are alone… So it’s true?"- Extra evidence that Menardi was dutiful. Or maybe:

"That’s right, Karst! I’m flattered that you remember!"- Just early enough in the plot that it might not have been ironic. Oh, the Karst/Sheba that could have been.

Favorite outfit:I wish she had a nice dress, too.

OTP:Maybe Agatio, or someone back in Prox? Things like Karst/Jenna and Karst/Alex are tempting, but they’d necessarily be very short lived.

Non-romantic OTP:Agatio, Menardi (if familial bonds / friendship count in this category).

Headcanon:Uh, Menardi saved her life when she was younger? Could help explain the hero worship.

Unpopular opinion:I can’t see reciprocal Karst/Felix in or before the canon.

A wish for them:It’s too late for that.

An oh-god-please-don’t-ever-happen for them:This is a cruel meme.

Why I like them: He backs up Karst without acting like a male leader or a resentful underdog.

Favorite line:Eh.

it was old BBC News (I don't trust wikipedia that much, only using it to confirm things I already know or discover possible new things and then do more research for more reliable sources)

but if it was not written it was still not canon... though the article implied that it was written, but which tablet was it?

basically, the logic behind Enkidu Did not Die and the sequel was that chaos beings are water, law beings are earth (though Enki took possession of waters after the fall of Abzu and Tiamat), and by having himself buried in the river Gilgamesh was both defying the gods and getting close to the mud (aka Enkidu, the neutral aligned being set to tone down his chaos)

then after the entire breaking out of Irkalla and rage against gods deal, all waters settled for a while before leaving at some point thanks to a trade at the second Market

(oh, spoiler but, Dumuzid, being a coward, pulled Enkimdu to the first Market as the Gilgamesh rebellion started, and it was really smart of him... sort of)

So yeah, azalee-calypso prompted on some TWEWY/HTTYD crossover (spoilers inside for both fandoms), so I did this. Quite happy with it to be honest.
