Maple Spirit
Under your shadows i walk
I tread a path upon your ground.
I hear the blood inside your veins
Where life rumbles like a river.
Do you smile upon me,
A trespasser on your land?
With a whisper I am lost
And taken along your voyage
In the wind where your last leaves fly,
Kites in the waning sun.
Lighter still your core sways
Rooted tightly to my soul.
On the very brink of days to come,
As winter opens a way of fragrant soil,
You shield me from my world
And take me into yours.
