The Bear and Peanut
Hello all! You may notice the above name showing up on your feed. This is still me, Sarah, formerly of "Art is Different." I've been working for some time now on quitting my soul sucking insurance day job to pursue a career in the arts. I have no illusions as to how tough it is out there, especially now, but I have to try. It's incredibly frightening, but also incredibly exhilarating, to think about quitting my job to just do what I want for a change, be my own boss, and to (hopefully) love what I do.
Soon I hope to have both giclée and screen prints available for sale online. I'll likely also be able to offer other crafty thoughtful home-spun Americana inspired what-have-yous, as that particular brand of whimsy really gets my motor running. I need a few more months of working "the job" to get more capital and a safety net under my belt, and I also need to keep teaching myself new techniques and tricks. But right now it seems pretty possible. I'll definitely keep you all posted, and I hope you stick around and enjoy what you find!
So yeah, The Bear and Peanut. This is what I'm calling this new venture. Those are nicknames for my dogs, my constant source of smiles and inspiration. It also reminds me of those fantastic British Pub names. Maybe the name is silly, maybe this whole thing is silly. After all, I could fall totally on my face. Or I could totally succeed. Or I could make no money, but still be way happier than I am right now.
Either way, it's worth it.
