Drunken Thoughts. {Ben&Ravi}

Could the dragons actions be openly described as wallowing in self pity? Maybe. But to be fair, he hadn’t started the night off in such a way. He had been drinking because, well, because he wanted to. There wasn’t much of a reason behind it other than wanting to indulge in a craving he had been experiencing. He didn’t know why, maybe it had been because of his week or so spent with old friends in London that had reacquainted himself with the sweet taint of liquor but whatever the reason behind it might have been it ended with the dragon skulking about the academy during the middle of the night.
He hadn’t started drinking inside Insolitus, no, he wouldn’t drink down with the students, too many chances for them to actually talk to him. He had been drinking out in Vighulir which really wasn’t any better but at least he could keep to himself and converse with complete strangers that knew nothing about him. But, while he hadn’t started at the academy, he would be ending his drinking there. He had been on his way back to the dormitories and on a whim had decided to sit himself out but by one of the entrance ways to the tunnels beneath the school. Maybe if he stayed up long enough he could watch the sun rise. It wasn’t something he had done recently. Well, not while drunk anyway.
He had set down his whisky bottle next to him, newly freed hands busying themselves by bringing forth a small ball of fire, flames absently licking over his palms as they moved around the sphere to pull and contort the flames at will. It wasn’t all that impressive, not by a long shot but it kept his hands busy. He had been looking off at the pitch black horizon when golden eyes were drawn down to the life in his hands, lips curling upwards in a cute little drunken smile. It was a distraction, if nothing else. It kept his mind off things that were best left undiscovered.
