Wednesday Spotlight: B.I.B.L.E (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth)
B.I.B.L.E a.k.a Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth is a mixtape by Halim Azhar. Halim Azhar and Teddy Smith are the executive producers with production done by: DJ Smokey, Az Beats, and other various artist. B.I.B.L.E is a sequel to the mixtape A.D.I.D.A.S a.k.a All Day I Drink and Smoke. This was the fifth mixtape by Halim. It has 13 tracks and 2 bonus tracks on it.
Before I get into synopsis of the mixtape I want to tell you a little known story about how it came about. First Halim was thinking of making a sequel to A.D.I.D.A.S, but didn’t know what to name it. A few weeks went by, as Halim was rolling up marijuana an idea hit him like a ton of bricks. Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth which breaks down to B.I.B.L.E. He planned on dropping it on Easter. Coincidently Easter was on April 20th which is known for National Weed Day to smokers.
Time to break down B.I.B.L.E. First off, this mixtape is filled with smooth laid back melodies that you can smoke and ride to. A track titled “O Me (O My)” is the perfect example of this with lyrics such as: “Oh me, oh me, oh my, I’m in the sky/I think I’m high I’m stupid high, Oh yeah I’m fried”. I was pleasantly surprised by the track “Amazing/Drop it”, which I think should be played in strip clubs near you. The best track to me is “The After Party”. It starts with a sample from Zapp & Roger hit single “Computer Love”, and sports the lyrics: “ It’s the after party me and some girl we convisating/Comptemplating our late night congregation/If she down for the consumation/I got some contraband and some condoms waitin”. The tracks “All Aboard (Lets Run A Train)”, “Easter Pink”,” RRR 2”, and “Sniper Jones” are also worth listening to. A good last wish to have is “My Last Wish” which is the last official track on the mixtape. So B.I.B.L.E’s basic message is to have fun while you are here on Earth.
