There's a small smile, barely noticeable, that tugs at the lips of the Romanian when he feels her lips upon his cheek. He doesn't exactly want it to show , he doesn't want it seen. His expression is almost quickly corrected, barely enough time to see the hint of a smile it brought on. "Didn't know you cared about that." He says, shoulders rolling back as he strands up straight. A small moment of realization takes place in his mind, throat clearing soon after as if to slightly move on from the compliment. "And I'm fine, I don't know what I'd have to be upset about or need to cheer up for. Did you think I was upset?" Andrei questions with a small tilt of his head. Still, the whole thing catching the Romanian off guard as he didn't think this was something she even cared for as a hero and he far from it. Then again, it could be a mind game of her's, that was always a possibility from the Black Widow.

Becca walked up to Nat and placed a kiss on the side of her face. She'd gotten pulled into a conversation with a man in the bookstore and forgot that she'd promised to have a ladies night with everyone. She walked over to Anya giving her a hug and smiling at her niece's girlfriend. "Kara I didn't know you were going to be able to make it." The young woman smiled explaining that she'd gotten out of practice early and Anya had picked her up.

Taking a seat next to Natasha, she smiled at the waitress that walked over. "I could use a glass of your best white wine. Actually why don't you bring the bottle and we can all have a glass or I can drink the whole thing." She laughed and picked up her menu. "So I finally sold that occult manual that we found must have been part of experiments during WWII. It doesn't talk about being part of a Hydra plan but I do believe that it might be a good way to pull the real one out. We say we found it, sold it to a collector and just wait to see if it's stolen . If it is, we know it was a fake and if it's not, we can know where that piece is at. That's what I was doing before I left the store late."

a deer caught in bright headlights , bob stares with his mouth agape , scraping for an apology that's caught , incomplete , in his throat . the lump in his throat is impossible to swallow - once , twice , three times 'til its satisfied , all the while wide eyes are scouring the floor , the walls , his hands for something he can't quite piece together under the pressure of being caught . bob's worked up , overwhelmed and knowingly overreacting .

" i - i know , i'm - " fingers flex and uncurl again and again , grasping for something to steady his thoughts . eyes squeeze so tight he's seeing stars , a coherent thought can't be found amongst those either . an exhale trembles as it's pushed past his lips that begin to mouth all manner of things , " i just didn't want to worry you . " finally . he speaks at speed . the silence stretches long enough for bob to catch up with his own thoughts , replay what he'd said and drop shoulders held up tight at his neck , " i didn't want to worry you . " bob speaks again , slowly , " i'm sorry . "

his   gaze    is    a    soft    one,    lips    pursed    together    in    a    sympathetic    gesture.    he    was    weak.    he    was    weak    for    her,    and    that    was    never    going    to    change.    every    moment,    whether    they    were    together    or    apart,    natasha    had    a    place    in    his    heart    and    therefore    made    him    weak.    he    didn’t    expect    company.    the    noise    of    the    world    around    him    had    gotten    too    loud,    so    he    had    turned    off    his    aids    for    a    little    silence.    he    doesn’t    have    to    hear    her    voice    to    know    there    was    a    broken    edge    to    it.    he    had    heard    her    plenty    of    times    over    the    years    and    could    tell    from    her    expression    alone.  a    sigh    leaves    him,    and    he    draws    his    hand    up,    letting    the    noise    of    the    world    back   in.    he    doesn’t    respond    to    her    at    first,    doesn’t    feel    like    he    needs    to.    she    doesn’t    have    to    explain    anything    to    him,    and    he    doesn’t    expect    her    to    either.    he    just    steps   aside,    holding    his    door    open    for    her,    and    waiting    for    her    to    come    inside. 

it   doesn’t    matter    that    his    loft    apartment    is    a    mess,    because    natasha    was    used    to    that.    lucky    was    passed    out    in    a    pile    of    clothes    on    the    couch,    tail    wagging    at    natasha’s   presence,    but    not    moving    to    get    up.    clint   makes    his    way    to    the    kitchenette,    grabbing    a    glass    from    the    cabinet    and    filling    it    with    water    from    the    tap.    his    footsteps    are    near-silent    as   he   makes    his    way    back    to    her,    offering    the    glass    with    one    hand    and    using    the    other       to   push    strands    of    red    away   from   her    face.

It has been a year today, since the eight year old has been on the run with Pepper, to hide from governments and bad man. And today is a rare treat, a day where she does not have to constantly stay inside at the safehouse, but is allowed in the small village, due to the fair that is on. Since it was going to be laregly populated and no one would have thheir focus on them, Natasha and Pepper deemed it safe for her to attend it.

So, Natasha has taken kindly taken her and today has been a first day of many things for Torunn, her first day at a fair, her first time on a ferris wheel and now, the Asgarian princess is trying something called a funnel cake. Whilst she is confused about the name and the look of the cake, she still agrees to try it.

Cautiously and bravely, Torunn pulls a piece off the cake and pops it in her mouth, cringing a little at the sudden hit of sugar explosion in her mouth. "It's really sweet."

She didn't want Natasha to see her express the pain, she needed to show that she strong. She was not just some kid - she was Atomic Betty; a galactic guardian who would protect the galaxies and those in need. Her eyes briefly squeezed shut, eventually opening as she smiled weakly. "Thanks." She muttered.
