I'm kind of sick of people dismissing others who try to get good grades in school, like people who are always asking "Yeah, but what are you really gonna get out of your grades at the end of the day, after you leave the institution?". I'll tell you what I'm gonna get, I'm going to get into one of the unis that I fucking want to into a course that I like and I'm not gonna be stuck with a shitty ATAR and a difficult pathway into tertiary education. Like, fuck you! If I want to study I will, and if I take pride in my marks that's my fucking business. Don't tell me that my grades and my interest in academic achievements is worthless, because let me tell you, those grades are going to get me a lot fucking further in life than your shitty attitude is going to get you.
