BA7 Summary
After a bit of a rocky start, I am happy with how this project has developed.
I feel much more confident going into BA8 with this solid body of research to refer to. I am eager to try out some of the ideas that have sprung up from this research such as the bleeding of the damask pattern into people and objects and playing with gender roles in the prostitute characters.
During this project I have learned to use InDesign in order to present my finalised work in a professional manner. I would love to use InDesign for my final work in BA8 as it is so easy to make professional looking documents and has so many options to manipulate text, images, and formatting.
Were I to do this project again I would like to visit more museums and historical locations for reference. This would have given me more first-hand research and experience. Although I only took one trip in BA7 there is still the opportunity to plan some outings for the Christmas break or during BA8.
Club Inspiration: Opium Den
Linked to the kitchen and pantry, the last area of the club that I want to focus on is the opium den.
I want it to still be decorated stylishly as it is an area that customers would be paying to spend time in, hence why I had a look at some Victorian style cushions in order for them to be placed for both comfort and style.
I have never seen an opium smoking pipe before so I thought it would be a good idea to include and image of one so that they can feature in my concept designs.
