uuugggghh again, I apologize for the lack of original material. Work plus the holidays plus whatever the hell bug I seem to have caught means that fangirling has taken a bit of a back seat at the moment.
The Oxen's Composture
It seemed the smell of coffee did little to calm down Sooyoung. Her brow creased whilst she drummed her slender fingers against the sturdy wood - with her gestures of anxiety Kyuhyun couldn't help but picture the Sophomore pulling that luscious, brown hair out of her nourished roots. A small laugh escaped him as he placed his latte beside him. He examined her with a gentle eye, propping his elbow beside his chest to lean his face against his hand. He watched her pout with a warm smile.
"This is a coffee house," He reminded her in his tenor monotone. "Coffee comes first,"
It was a bad day for his acquaintance - only a mere hour ago, her entire array of sheet music disinterred from the many scaffolded, neatly arranged folders which she tentatively carried around the campus. A few however remained, those of which were carelessly scattered between them - he knew it wouldn't have bothered her if they were to be lost along with their missing counterparts or if he were to spill his coffee on them - they were meaningless to her now.
With a small eye smile, Sooyoung let out a weak laugh of despondence. "I suppose that's true Kyuhyun... But I am cold and wish to drink some hot chocolate now."
Taking a pen out of his pocket, he grabbed one of her pieces of music. He examined the different chords, looking upon them with an arched brow. To this, Sooyoung cringed - it was the first time where she didn't hide the fact that his silent scrutiny had an effect upon her. She snatched the pieces of paper from him and shoved them in her purse. Another enthused laugh came from the older male before returning to sip on his hot coffee,
"I like what you wrote," He stated with a firm nod. "I think you should rewrite your stuff starting with that,"
Sooyoung's eyes widened. Surely he couldn't be serious - that was the most nonsensical thing he had suggested to her since she had met him. Her oval shaped head tilted, showing a new angle to her swept shoulder length hair.
"T-that... It won't sound right starting with that - it's far too abrupt,"
"What's wrong with abrupt, Sooyoung?" With a small laugh, he eased back into his chair. "You didn't seriously think you could get your music the way it was before you lost it?"
The screeching sounds of the coffee machines dominated the chatter of the people around them, metal colliding as the baristias continued to take the orders of the cold, parched customers. Kyuhyun's head lifted to the sound of one of the employees call out Sooyoung's order. His eyes rolled towards her,
"Don't bother - I'll get it, seeing as you didn't bother chasing after your sheet music."
Before being able to see or hear a reaction, Kyuhyun shot up, showing his white teeth whilst getting her cup of hot chocolate in between small bursts of laughter. He sat back down handing the chocolate over to Sooyoung, who still remained in a sour countenance in regard to his cute joke. With a little sigh, she kept the cup close, taking in the smell of the cocoa and absorbing the warmth the steam gave.
"I'll try," She whispered in between sips. "I'll try your idea so long as you can put up with me."
Leaning over, Kyuhyun gave her shoulder small, reassuring pat - he had only hoped that she would do the same for him
Je tiens toujours mes paris. C'est toujours une demi-victoire non ?
