i tend to die on the hill of not taking scrapped dialogue or concept art or datamined stuff to heart at all and generally stick to the attitude of “if it was changed/didn’t make it in then there’s probably a reason and only things In the game are canon”, ESPECIALLY with scrapped silence the idol dialogue because a lot of it points to a kind of different trial both thematically and practically from earlier in development in a way i just don’t really like (really just the kind of heavyhanded creepiness the kress twins have towards erik is something i find way more effective as an implication than something we actually see/hear and that’s something the scrapped dialogue kinda leans into)

HOWEVERRR i really like this scrapped paparazzi mannequin dialogue and do wish we got it. it’s so simplistically mean. i guess being too on the nose is probably why it was cut which is fair i just felt my heart sink a little bit when reading it
