I Figured it out guys
In book IX - The Hermit 3. The Magician there’s that paid scene where you’re trying to tell Asra and the Magician apart and at the end when you make a choice he tells you this.
And ever since this book has been released it has always bothered me that I never got told if I was right or not.
Until today.
They say “You’re not wrong” and it’s super vague and confusing. The thing is whatever choice you make isn’t wrong because
Both choices are Asra’s feelings, but from different times.
What do I mean by this? The most compelling evidence is in the part where you decide to kiss both of them. The first one being this
Here we can see it as a new feeling being experienced. It’s exciting, fascinating, and it’s delightful.
Kind of like when you first start catching feelings for someone
Who did Asra go to as a kid when he wanted to escape? To have fun and interact with someone? The Magician. Wouldn’t you think that he would have also gone to them when he experienced his first crush with the apprentice?
I believe the Magician remembers this clearly because the little fuzz ball that’s been following him around in his realm becoming lovestruck would have been a sight to see for someone who does not experience change.
This brings me to this next set of screeshots
To me this clearly reads as current Asra. The Asra I believed was the “right” one. Here the emotions are stronger and more sure of what they seek. To be with the apprentice. This is not like the crush Asra had when he met the apprentice. This has developed into love. Asra wants to be with the apprentice because he loves them, the initial interest and excitement replaced with something deeper.
So Thanks Magician. It was a trick question and I finally figured it out after who knows how many months or years this has been out for
