CxM MC Rant

I will support the MC from collar x malice until I die.

First, she has strong morals and she follows them. She’s pursued a career that is not well paid and has few benefits because of her passion for helping others. At the start of the game, she has close relationships with her colleagues, and it’s revealed that she’s dedicated to her work, and even has valuable skills (marksmanship, patience, diplomacy) related to her career. She is an accomplished, whole person before the events of the game. Then, she gets put in a truly traumatizing situation. She’s kidnapped, poisoned, put in a permanent state of imminent threat, and told that she cannot go to her trusted friends and family for help. She’s expected to trust a group of strangers. One threatens her outright, several are incredibly distrustful of her, and as a whole, they appear to care very little for her safety when it doesn’t directly benefit their own goals. All of this happens in, what, two days? She’s criticized for being a bad liar, and for being slow, but she’s been thrust in a situation way above her pay grade, surrounded by people with very different specialties than herself. And she’d never really need to lie, in her profession. Her job is simply to protect citizens in minor altercations, which is why she wasn’t assigned the case in the first place! This literally isn’t her job! On top of that, may I remind you: she has barely slept, if at all, since she was on the brink of death. In conclusion, she’s doing her best, I couldn’t have done better, and I love her.
