8 and 16 for the oc ask game!

Hello!! Thank you for the ask! Since you didn't choose an OC, I'm going to answer this for my boys Rook and Carrion, if that's okay!

8. What does your OC's family look like?

Rook's biological family (aka, the only family he has. He hates that word and all things associated with it and would never call the people he truly cares about family, even if that's what they are to him) is... complicated. His father, Lord Alistair Lockwood is a wood elf nobleman from the country of Arborcea. His mother is an unknown human woman who (as far as Rook knows, the truth is more complicated) left him with his father and bailed immediately after he was born. He doesn't even know her name. He grew up in his father's manor. Also living there was his father's wife (Lady Evangeline Lockwood, a high elf from another noble family) and his three half-brothers: Silas, Byron, and Theodore. (All of them were decades older than him, on account of being full-elves.) Unfortunately for him, Rook looks a lot like his father. He does have some of his mother's features (curlier hair, freckles), but otherwise he's almost a clone of his father.

16. Is there anyone your OC has lost contact with? What happened?

Many, many people. Firstly there was his biological family (described above). He lost contact with them intentionally, running away from home when he was 17. He would gladly never see any of them again if he could help it, especially after learning of his father's involvement with Dr. Purity and the Children of the Enlightened (Purity's genocidal mad scientist cult). Other than that, there's obviously Zara and Jay (and everyone else on the Tide Breaker, but he doesn't care about them). In that case it was due to him being kidnapped by Wolf (with assistance from members of Zara's crew who did not like him) and kept on her ship for over two years. After he escaped, he thought he would never see Zara or Jay again, especially after he ending up hiding in the Feywild. But he unexpectedly ran into one of the people who sold him to Wolf, who was able to tell him where Zara was. And after being rescued from Wolf's clutches again, the town she lived in happened to be the nearest port. (And Jay happened to be the doctor there, which meant that the first she saw of her best friend for the first time in three years was him mostly-dead in a stranger's arms.)

8. What does your OC's family look like?

Carrion (or, Reverence, as they knew him) had a very good relationship with his parents! The three of them lived in an apartment in Drakkenheim's inner city, up until his parents died when the city was struck by a magic meteor. His father, Ambrose Keren (a [dusk?] elf), was a priest at St. Vetruvio's Cathedral, the largest church/temple in the city. His mother, Ophelia Keren (a tiefling), was an actress and singer at a local theatre. He inherited his grey skin from his father, but his tiefling traits and red eyes from his mother. Generally his facial features are a blend between the two of them.

16. Is there anyone your OC has lost contact with? What happened?

The most important people Carrion has lost contact with are Theodore, Beren, and Orion. Theodore was his mentor in the Silver Order, as well as responsible for saving Carrion from the rubble of Drakkenheim 15 years ago. Carrion owes him his life in more ways than one. Beren and Orion were two other young knights that he trained with as squires, and his closest friends in the Order. The three of them were nearly inseparable. He lost contact with all three of them after his transformed for the second time, attacking Orion and possibly killing him. Theodore ordered him to be left for dead, chained and lowered over the side of a cliff. Carrion managed to survive, but for obvious reasons never returned to the Order. But now he's back in Drakkenheim, where Theodore commands the entire army stationed at Camp Dawn. So the chance of Carrion running into at least one of the three is certainly not zero... (especially since Carrion [thinks he] wants to kill Theodore). Orion's fate is unknown (though the DM has said some things that make me desperate to find out what happened to him), and I have no idea if Beren is in the area or even still a member of the Silver Order.
