It's been a while and Asa's just glad to see him again - to have him over and get to reconnect. The librarian's been busy between finishing up his own book work and starting a few community events at the library. Taking on a little too much, as usual. Just trying to keep things going.

So he melts into the hug when he reaches for Jack, and tugs him into his cute little apartment. The 5 cats are mostly all sleeping, though his black cat Cosmo comes walking over to sniff. The place is beautiful jewel toned walls and eclectic art. Plants hanging in pretty windows, a warm and cozy mustard colored sofa. "Come in! I'm so glad you could visit... I was thinking maybe just pizza and wine, honestly." He smiles, rolling up the sleeves of the nice linen shirt he has on- more of a large smock that has some paint stains on it. In fact, a few paintings are leaned up against his desk in the corner of the living room, drying. "What have you been up to? How are things, love?"

“Happy birthday, Shumai!” Kokichi stands on the tips of his toes, holding up a neatly wrapped box for him to open. He grinned up at him widely, urging him to open it. “Cmon, I got you the best surprise in the world, even royalty would be jealous of it!” Inside of the box was an ornate journal with a silver cover, and on top of the journal was a set of personalized pens, ornately decorated with carvings.

"Thank you, Koki! Ohh, what’s this?” Happily accepting the gift from his boyfriend, he laughs when seeing him urge Shuichi to open it so eagerly, giving a quick nod of his head. “Hahaha, oh yeah? W-Well then it definitely has to be grand! Alright, opening it now-”

Carefully undoing the wrapping, his eyes widen in delighted surprise when seeing not only the journal, but the personalized pens that came with it. He first holds the journal in his hands, giving the front back, and inside a thorough look as he comments: “Ahh, this is so pretty, Kokichi...! I love the design of this so much. And then pens, too-”

He gives them an excited glance as well. “These such a pretty design on them as well! Ohh I am going to make absolute sure to take care of these. Heheh I can’t wait to start writing things down in here...” After he gently sets the pen and journal down on the table, he goes to softly cup Kokichi’s hands in his own. “It really was a wonderful surprise, Kokichi: just like I knew it would be... all the more because it’s from you. Thank you... I really love my gifts so much. J-Just like I really love you...! You made today even better than it already was.” And then gently pulls Kokichi over to him, so he can catch him in his arms and give him a kiss. “Thank you again, m-my beloved Koki...”
