kinda insane how you dedicated the entire tags to hate on waterparks but reblogged it on your dash anyway. I'm not even going to dignify or entertain what you said cuz it's insane but hope you enjoyed the song :)
ok truthfully i did not realize the post i was blogging from the blog WATERPARKSDRAMA was not an original post from them, generally i try not to bitch on posts when people are clearly excited so i apologize for that.
that being said, this ask has such a weird tone like i haven't been in these trenches for 5 years watching awsten slowly but surely orchestrate his own downfall. you may believe that the only way to support a band is to cheer on everything they do uncritically, but i think actually giving a shit about something involves wanting it to be better. parx being on their sixth label, with a stagnating fanbase, and a million songs about how much they hate their fans is clearly not working for them. awsten said he'd said what he wanted to say about this concept on 'fandom' and was then closing the door on it, and then he didn't. and now seemingly three albums later we are rehashing it. again. it's exhausting. he cannot simultaneously act entitled and like he deserves to blow up to ~drake~ levels of fame while also bitching about the parasocial problems he created for himself by appealing to the lowest common denominator of his comparatively small fanbase by doing anything and everything for twitter engagement and then getting angry that he's now set a standard where fans expect that from him. if he'd learned anything from his friendship with michael clifford, i really wish it had just been to log the fuck off. alas.
again i apologize for reblogging the post, i did not notice it was a reblog and not parxdrama posting it, and if you genuinely enjoy the snippet of that song then i'm happy for you. i just don't and i don't think there's anything wrong with expressing that. when someone monetizes their art for consumption they're also opening the door for people to critique it. awsten is a grownass man. he should be able to take it. i want to enjoy parx again. red guitar had me hopeful because i liked 85% of that song so i was hoping he had learned something from IP's failures. this unfortunately has me once again thinking he hasn't. and that's ok. he can be in a time loop but i'm allowed to say that he is.
