The Countdown
I am 34 weeks and 5 days pregnant with baby Rayne meaning I have 5 weeks and 2 days until her expected due date. Of course there are a lot of ways this can go. Being that she is my first. I could have her early, on time or after her due date - though I’m praying that nothing past the 17th occurs (we really want an Aquarius and for her to be out on time of course). As i get close to my due date I get more anxious, which isn’t great when your pregnant and already have an anxiety disorder. Bae thinks I’m stressed, I’m just overly excited and want things in order before early, on time or late happens.
We’ve had our baby shower which was a lot of fun and very successful. My guest got her so much clothes, Jesus - i’ve never hated pink so much until that day. I will say I was slightly disappointed, due to the fact that everyone just bought her a bunch of clothes rather than getting the items on her registry or just giving a gift card from where we registered from. Not to seem ungrateful but I don’t need a lot of clothes - she got a lot of mint condition and unworn hand-me-downs and NEEDS the items on that list - which i prefer not to get but we as the parents are looking like we’re going to have to get those items. Thankfully daddy has my old drawers from when I was a kid that I can use so new furniture right now isn’t at an all time high. Other items such as her stroller and car seat travel system my parents will get, we still have time people can still buy for her so it’s not a total let down but for those of you expecting STRESS TO YOUR GUEST to stick to your registry as much as possible.
I’m currently going through nesting (the overwhelming desire to get your home ready for your new baby. The nesting instinct is strongest in the later weeks coming up on delivery. It is an old wives' tale that once nesting urges begin, labor is about to come on.) I want everything in what bae calls “Perfection State” but i just say ready and intact. So we dont have to worry about all the last min details. Especially with us still living in our one bedroom apartment - everything needs a place and just some order. I want to get in the habit myself of having clothes washed and folded as I go, having the living room and kitchen in a state of clean before we go to bed, cleaning the tub every few days rather than every two weeks, etc etc. the list could go on.
